    The female pelvis is specialized for childbirth, characterized by a broader, shallower, and more spacious structure (gynecoid shape). 

    • Key Anatomical Features:
      • Pelvic Inlet/Outlet: Wide, oval, or rounded inlet; wide pelvic outlet to accommodate a fetus.
      • Pubic Arch/Angle: Wide, obtuse angle (greater than 80–90°).
      • Sacrum and Coccyx: Shorter, wider, and less curved sacrum; a flexible, movable coccyx.
      • Pelvic Floor: A hammocking structure of muscles (levator ani) supporting the bladder and uterus.
